Inca Road of 4 Days / 3 Nights to Machu Picchu


* Daily departures Except February: The Inca trail is closed (all month) for maintenance. But we have other alternatives of hiking to Machu Picchu that you can do in February.


The Inca Trail (also known as the Inca Trail or Inka Trail) over 39 km where you can relive the history of the Incanato. Enjoy culture, history, flora and fauna for 4 fantastic days. During this walk, you will visit different archeological sites with different climates and landscapes (we will cross the highlands), where our guide will give you the corresponding explanations. Patallaqta, Willkarakay are just some archeological sites that you will visit before reaching the highest point of this route known as Warmiwañusca “Dead Woman” at 4200 meters or 13800 feet. Every day will be hard and unforgettable, will be rewarded on the 4th day of our walk, when you arrive at the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku) and have the spectacular view of one of the wonders of the world, Machu Picchu,


(Also known as Short Inca trail with camping 2 days). The Peruvian government has set a limit of people who can enter the road every year, so it is necessary to book in advance. Only 500 people per day can enter the road, of which 200 are tourists and the rest are guides, porters, cooks. So the spaces are reserved quite quickly. We advise you to book at least 6 months in advance.


Day 1:  Cusco  - Urubamaba Valley - Huayllabamba (11 Km - 6 Hours / 3350 - 2685 - 3390 Masl)

Early in the morning, we pick up our passengers from the hotel in Cusco and travel to km. 82 in the Urubamba Valley , where the Inca trail to Machu Picchu begins . The first part of the road will be near the Urubamba River, then we will go to the archaeological site of Llactapapa (this was an important resting place on the road to machu picchu by train 2 days) and we will end our first day of hiking in Huallyabamba (3000 masl), where we will camp . Lunch and dinner included.


Day 2: Huayllabamba - Warmiwausca - Pacaymayo (15 Km - 8 Hours / 3390 - 4225-3645 Masl)

After breakfast, we will begin to climb the first step, the Warmiwausca (4200 masl) , also called the “dead woman”, due to the fact that it looks like a woman lying down. From here we can enjoy the beautiful view of the entire valley. On this day we will walk in different microclimates, through the high and dry Puna until we reach the jungle , where gnarled trees grow in the middle of low clouds. Here we can find several types of orchids, as well as the national plant of Peru (Polylepis Incana) and mammals such as the puma and the Andean bear. After crossing the pass, the road goes to Pacaymayo , where we will camp, near the river. It is possible that day 2 is the most difficult and cold on the Inca Trail; Our team of professional guides will attend you during this unforgettable day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.


Day 3: Pacaymayo - Runkurakay - Sayacmarca - Wiñayhuayna (10 Km - 9 Hours / 3645 - 3925 - 2650 Masl)

After breakfast, we will walk to the ruins of Runku Rakay and cross the pass with the same name (3800 masl). Later, we will go down to Sayacmarca , which is an important aarqueological complex, also known as the “inaccessible city” . On this day we will go down to the ruins of Wiñayhuayna (2700 masl) , which means "forever young . " This name is due to the presence of numerous and colored orchids near the archaeological site, said path is the most attractive of the Inca Trail and is formed of a cultivation area, a housing area, an area of ​​ritual sources and the area of ​​the tower. Day 4: Wiñayhuayna - Inti Punku - Machu Picchu - Cusco (7 Km - 3 Hours / 2650 - 2735 - 2400 Masl) Machu Picchu - Cusco

We get up very early to see the sunrise from the Inti Punku (the door of the Sun) and have a magnificent view of Machu Picchu . We will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours in Machu Picchu where our guide will explain to us about the different parts that constitute the lost city of the Incas . We will also have free time to visit Machu Picchu autonomously. Here the Inca trail ends and from Machu Picchu we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon (by train) we will go to Ollantaytambo and then take our transport back to Cusco.
